We focus on the lower middle market — owner-operated manufacturing and services companies generating $500K–$5M in EBITDA, and standalone commercial real estate assets, across the Northeast, Mid-Atlantic, Florida, and Texas.

We seek owners who are ready for a transition — whether that means full liquidity, a partial exit, or a structured partnership — and who want to see their business, their team, and their legacy thrive beyond the transaction. For intermediaries and brokers, we are a straightforward and decisive counterparty who values relationships and moves with conviction.

Post-acquisition, we engage alongside existing management — sharpening strategy, strengthening operations, and building the commercial capabilities needed to grow.

Meet the Founder

Most private investment firms are built by financiers. North Pine Group was built by someone who has also worked the floor — having spent nearly two decades at the intersection of industrial operations and institutional finance, a combination rare in the lower middle market.

He began his career as an engineer at General Electric before earning his MBA from Columbia Business School and transitioning into institutional finance. Over the following 15 years, he held roles at bulge-bracket banks and asset management firms, with a focus on industrial, chemicals, and energy companies.

North Pine Group was built on the conviction that the analytical rigor of institutional investing, combined with genuine operational experience, can create something different in the lower middle market — a buyer who understands both the numbers and the business behind them.
